Six Companies Approved for State Tax Abatements to Expand in Northern Nevada

RENO, Nev. (August 5, 2026) –Six companies expanding in Northern Nevada have been approved for state tax abatements by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). Represented by Northern NV Now through the state incentive process, the projects are expected to create more than 1,000 jobs across Washoe, Storey and Lyon counties over the next five years at an average hourly wage of more than $42, and to generate more than $105 million in new tax revenue over the 10-year abatement period.

The companies span advanced manufacturing, industrial packaging, data centers and metals fabrication, reflecting the range of industries choosing to build and grow in the region. Nevada does not offer upfront cash incentives. Qualifying companies instead receive performance-based tax abatements tied to measurable job creation, wages and capital investment.

Every new operation strengthens the ecosystem for the next one.”

The six companies represented by Northern NV Now are located in Washoe, Storey and Lyon counties:

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI Reno Division) has established a corrugated packaging manufacturing facility in Reno. An employee-owned company, Buckeye Corrugated designs and manufactures custom corrugated packaging and display solutions for customers across the United States. The company was approved for $1,572,144 in abatements and is expected to create 27 jobs at an average hourly wage of $40.06 within five years. It is expected to make $12,755,000 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $7,146,793 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
Colovore Reno 1 LLC plans to establish a data center in Storey County. Colovore builds high-density, liquid-cooled data centers designed to support artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, and its Storey County facility uses a design that eliminates the need for water-intensive cooling. The company was approved for $4,076,970 in abatements and is expected to create 10 jobs at an average hourly wage of $59.00 within five years. It is expected to make $30,000,000 in capital equipment investment and generate $16,848,744 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
Greif Packaging, LLC plans to establish an industrial packaging manufacturing and distribution facility in Reno. Greif is a global manufacturer of industrial packaging products, and its Reno operation will produce plastic drums, bottle kits and reconditioned intermediate bulk containers to serve customers across the West Coast. The company was approved for $664,476 in abatements and is expected to create 23 jobs at an average hourly wage of $32.54 within five years. It is expected to make $5,363,362 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $11,058,099 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
Hyve Solutions Corporation plans to establish an advanced manufacturing facility in Reno. A wholly owned subsidiary of TD SYNNEX, Hyve Solutions designs, manufactures and deploys customized server, storage and networking systems. The company was approved for $3,672,117 in abatements and is expected to create 974 jobs at an average hourly wage of $32.10 within five years, and to generate $59,334,238 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period
Type III, Inc. plans to establish its manufacturing and engineering operations in Reno. Type III designs and builds ruggedized, mission-critical communications and electronics hardware for demanding environments, and provides engineering services and product development from its Reno facility. The company was approved for $430,758 in abatements and is expected to create 26 jobs at an average hourly wage of $57.31 within five years. It is expected to make $5,256,000 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $6,699,987 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.
Western Steel Service Center, LLC plans to establish a steel processing and fabrication facility in Fernley. A disabled-veteran-owned company, Western Steel Service Center provides steel processing and fabrication for construction and industrial customers, with operations that include steel plate processing, CNC machining, plasma cutting, forming and welding to serve utility, energy, telecommunications and infrastructure markets across the Western United States. The company was approved for $542,407 in abatements and is expected to create 10 jobs at an average hourly wage of $35.59 within five years. It is expected to make $4,883,790 in capital equipment investment in the first two years of operation and generate $4,046,284 in new taxes over the 10-year abatement period.

Northern NV Now worked alongside GOED, local governments and regional partners to support the companies through site selection, workforce data analysis and the state approval process. The abatements were approved at the GOED Board meeting in Carson City.
