Companies like Ormat, a recognized leader in geothermal energy and Fulcrum Sierra Biofuels is building a facility in Storey County that will generate transportation fuel from MSW. The growth of electric-powered vehicles and mobile phones has spurred the lithium (li-ion) battery advancements of energy storage continues to move at a rapid pace; Panasonic and Dragonfly Energy both manufacturers and of li-ion battery technology are located here in the Reno-Sparks-Tahoe area.
